Today: Is This It by The Strokes.

When The Strokes edited Is This It, many critics called them as "The Saviors of Rock". Personally, I believe that it's one of the best debut albums. The album was released in 2001. According to many people, it is one of the best albums of the new millennium, and I agree.

In the United States the original album cover was censored, where you can see an ass with a black leather glove, and also they replaced the song New York City Cops (because the lyrics spoke ill about the local police) for the song When It Started.

Is This It is relatively short, but they are almost forty minutes of pure garage rock. Enjoy it:

Today: Pearl by Janis Joplin.

What can I say about her and this wonderful album? It's one of the greatest albums in the history of music, I have no doubts about that.

She was a symbol of hippie movement in the 60s and the first woman considered as a rock and roll star.
Many polls place Janis among the greatest singers of all time. I think that the real secret of Janis is the strength and passion of her voice. Seldom I heard someone sing like her.

Pearl
was released in 1971, six weeks after of her death. It's an album with influences of blues, country, rock and soul, and it's played in an amazing way for Janis. I'm sure you know Cry Baby, her most famous song. Another amazing songs of this album are Move Over, Mercedes benz and Trust Me.

So, as I always say, I leave you the complete album:

Today: Midnight Boom by The Kills.

The Kills is a duo composed by Alison Mosshart and the english guitarist, Jamie Hince. At first they sounded like a garage rock band with punk influences, but as time passed their songs became a little bit melodic.

Midnight Boom was released in 2008. It's a very interesting work, with songs for everyone.
The bad girl image of Alison accompanies very well the lyrics of their songs. Songs like Cheap and Chearful and Alphabet Pony sounds very current, Last Day of Magic and U.R.A. Fever are completely irresistible. Tape Song is accompanied with powerful dirty guitars and distorted vocals. Sour Cherry reminds me their early albums.

I consider it a very innovative and cool album, very different from the music of this era. I hope you enjoy it as much as me. I didn't find the whole album, so I leave you in 3 parts:

Midnight Boom (Part 1)
Midnight Boom (Part 2)

Today: Origin of Symmetry by Muse.

What can I say about Origin of Symmetry? It's so good that I have to share it with you.
Origin of Symmetry is the second album by Muse, it was released in 2001 as the successor of Showbiz.

I think the album takes you on another planet from the beginning with New Born to Megalomania. All songs are made of unquestionable beauty, and the composition of letters is brilliant.

The band is known for their live shows, I saw some videos of them in concerts and I can say that is true, also many people I know said me that they are truly amazing.

Nowadays, Muse became one of my favourite bands, because it's good rock with influences from everywhere and they makes you lose control to take you somewhere completely unknown. I have to emphasize the ability in singing of Matt Bellamy, employing a really amazing voice in all songs.

Shortly, a perfect album. Enjoy it:

Today: When The Pawn... by Fiona Apple.

Hello. Today I decided that When The Pawn ... by Fiona Apple is the album of the day. Personally, I consider Fiona as a genius and a poet of music. I love all her albums, and this is particularly great and very personal.
It was released in 1999 after the successful Tidal, their debut album and the favourite of many of her fans, including me.

As you know the name of the album contains 90 words and it is named in that way in response to criticism that Fiona received after a comment she made in a TV show. The complete name is:

When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You'll Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Will not Matter, Cuz You Know That You're right.

So, for this reason, the album is best known as When the Pawn...

I think it was a very underrated album, the lyrics are beautiful and very passionate. I don't see anything wrong. Everything she does is absolutely amazing. Listen to this album, it won't disappoint you:

01. On The Bound.
02. To Your Love.
03. Limp.
04. Love Ridden.
05. Paper Bag.
06. A Mistake.
07. Fast As You Can.
08. The Way Things Are.
09. Get Gone.
10. I Know.

Today: Vitalogy by Pearl Jam.

As you know, Pearl Jam is my favourite band. I love them, and the weather today is special to listen Vitalogy. First of all, it is a beautiful album, one of the best of Pearl Jam, I have no doubts about that.

Vitalogy is the third album of the band, and it was released in 1994, a year after launching Vs. All songs describe different things, my favourit are Spin The Black Circle, Nothingman, Corduroy, Better Man and Immortality. You just must get carried away by that voice, the voice of Eddie Vedder, the best vocalist I heard. The kindest man I know, even he's more good than Lassie.

The album cover design is a replica of a medical book of the 1920s, and literally means "The study of life".

So, here is the full album, I recommend it, enjoy:

Today: Blind Melon by Blind Melon.

Today I’ve chosen Blind Melon by Blind Melon, because it is an album that I like very, very much. Their most original album, in my opinion. The album was released in 1992 and contains 13 songs, including the famous single, No Rain and other brilliant songs, as Tones of Home and Deserted.

I believe that the album cover with Heather DeLoach is unforgettable, the “Bee Girl” gives me a lot of peace every time I see her, I don’t know why! Also, I think Shannon Hoon is one of those singers that you can not forget after hearing a song by Blind Melon.
Well, I don’t know what else to say, so I leave you the full album, enjoy it:

Today: Violator by Depeche Mode.

Welcome to my music blog!

I decided to create this blog to reflect my love for music, because I'm an obssesive fan of it. I consider myself a person who knows a lot about music and I think that I know how to choose it. I don’t hear any band, I think most people don’t know how to appreciate it. I don’t want to seem poser, but I imagine that I could not live without music.

For my first entry, I chose one of my favourite albums: Violator by Depeche Mode.
First of all, I think it's the best album of Depeche Mode and one of the best in the history of electronic music. Their masterpiece.
It is the successor of the great Music for the Masses. The album contains nine songs, including the classics Personal Jesus and Enjoy The Silence. All the songs are amazing in their own way, it’s irresistible.
Well, here is the complete album for you to enjoy:
